Folk Art exhibit now open at the Harris Arts Center

Art lovers trek from far and wide to Seale, Alabama to visit the 80-acre compound of self-taught artist and maker Butch Anthony. Some fans come to see the curiosities of Anthony's Museum of Wonder and the World's First Drive Thru Museum, while others participate in the annual Doo-Nanny folk art festival.
On August 19 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM the Calhoun and Gordon County community can experience his unique art without making the pilgrimage to Alabama when the Harris Arts Center hosts the opening reception for an exhibit of works by Anthony and emerging folk artist Will Linn. The exhibit will remain on view at the arts center through October 19.

Will Linn, a member of the Harris Arts Center Board of Directors, will display alongside Anthony. Linn is a self-taught artist from north Georgia who uses layers of plywood to create colorful landscapes and animals covered in a multitude of dots. Much of his work includes very small versions of family members and friends, dressed as they choose, doing various activities. Linn will be in attendance at the opening reception for an opportunity to "meet the artist".
Harris Arts Center is located at 212 South Wall Street in Calhoun. Admission to the exhibit and reception is free to the public.
